CTRL+ALT+CRIP (we say it like this: control alt crip)
is a magazinethat is available both in print and online.
What is the magazine about?
The magazine covers topics such as:
disability,
design (that means planning and creating),
art,
technology (like machines and digital tools),
and what we know about our bodies.
The texts in the magazine are written in plain language.
We also create Easy-to-Understand versions for more complex articles.
This magazine gives space to new ways of thinking.
It is not only about how to include others.
It is also about how we shape the world together.
What does “crip” mean?
“Crip” is a way of thinking.
Disabled ways of knowing.
It means asking questions,
building, taking things apart,
and reimagining the world together.
In this magazine, disability is not a “topic”.
It is a shared starting point,
a shared experience.
Here, design is not decoration.
Design is a social, ethical, and knowledge-sharing practice.
The word “crip” (we say it like this: crip)
was once a hurtful word.
It meant “lame” or “crippled.”
But many disabled people have taken the word back.
Its meaning has changed.
Today, it represents a perspective
that many people proudly embrace.
The “crip” perspective means:
we have our own experiences,
we have knowledge,
we speak up for ourselves,
and we see the world differently.
This perspective helps us imagine
how we might live together in other ways.
Not just by following the usual rules.
“Crip” is not just about surviving.
It’s about changing, resisting,
and proposing new ideas.
The magazine is created together
by disabled and non-disabled people.
Anyone can write and submit content.
